Nigerian Award-Winning rapper, Ice Prince, is set to debut his first single since under the record label, 300 Entertainment, on Friday, September 4th.
Ice Prince, born Panshak Zamani, has undeniably been one rapper you couldn’t ignore. With his career beginning under the Nigerian record label - Chocolate City in 2004, it can’t be denied the level of success and international acclaim he has received since now and then. I know personally the early hit, Oleku, was an introduction to Nigerian rapper Ice Prince and I’ve been hearing him gracing the mic since.
Since then he’s gone on to perform with the likes of AKA, Davido, Jidenna, Tiwa Savage, Major Lazor, French Montana and Wale to name a few. Ice Prince was also featured as one of the performing artists for The 2015 Global Citizen Festival in New York City. 2018 saw Ice Prince being hailed as the most streamed African rapper with 18 million streams on Spotify.
With a track record like this, it makes sense why a major label like 300 Entertainment, home to the likes of Young Thug, Meg Thee Stallion and Gunna, would look to add a rapper of Ice Prince calibre to their roster.
The debut single under 300 entertainment is called “ Make Up Your Mind “ which features Tekno and is produced by Stunna. With Ice Prince and Tekno having worked together before, the chemistry is effortless and evident as they go on to tell a story about a love that doesn’t come cheap.
“She say she like the kind guy wey
Dey chop the dollar,
6 figure brother wey,
Dey pop the collar,
Big Benzo with the light for corner“
Let’s you know just what type of guy catches her eye, and of course - Ice Prince is definitely that guy. And even in the midst of niggas with money, he’s confident that his isn’t funny money that’s all talk till the feds show up. Tekno laces up the song nicely with vocals on the hook and outro.
The music video, shot and directed by T.G. Omori, delivers clean visuals showcasing beautiful styling and scenery to assist Ice Prince and Tekno in effortlessly telling their story.
The song is a good debut backed by a brilliantly shot music video since signing with 300 Entertainment. One can only look forward to what else Ice Prince has in store for us.
